System Administrator

As the System Administrator you are responsible for maintaining and
supporting hardware, software and network systems across the company. The primary
focus will be in maintaining and supporting an existing build-and-deploy system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Diligent and meticulous
- Detail-oriented; obsessively accurate
- Strong interpersonal communication with technical and non-technical audiences (calm, patient, empathetic)
- Accommodating and diplomatic
- Agile
- Experience with risk mitigation strategies and disaster recover planning
- Experience with NAnt (or Ant) build scripts
- Experience with Visual Studio
- May require a Federal background check for access to client data
Key Position Accountabilities:
- Deploys completed products to client production environments
- Supports and maintains existing configuration management system
- Pushes builds to internal environments
- Retrieves and maintains baseline and database backups
- Investigates build or deployment failures and resolves in a timely manner
- Supports and trains development staff in build script maintenance
- Designs and develops build scripts
- Enhances and improves build system as applicable
- Tracks and documents installation procedures to ensure a clearly repeatable process
- Keeps stakeholders aware of deployments with information necessary to assess the update:
- Client and project name
- Target release name
- Build/revision number
- Database changes, if any
- Link to the site where the update has been deployed, if applicable
- Change log
- Works closely with a quality assurance team to ensure final version is up to organizational standards
- Working with an outside vendor, maintains and supports existing and new server setups and network environment
- Configures and sets up new workstations
- Maintains, installs and tracks software updates
- Maintains inventory of software and hardware
- Procures software and hardware as requested
- Monitors and maintains backup system (BackupExec)
- Maintains and manages telephone systems (NEC PBX) adding or changing phones as needed, removing old voicemail boxes, reprogram as needed, with support of phone system provider
- Manages leased and/or co-located machines working with vendors
- Works with ISP and telco providers to address connectivity issues when they arise
- Maintains office peripherals (printers, fax, scanner) including working with external parties
- Responds to service requests from internal customers
- Maximizing uptime for customers
- Identifying faulty components and replacing or repairing as needed in a timely fashion
- Creates and maintains users including access privileges and email accounts
