Business Analyst III
Seattle, WA

Seven Simple Machines provides simple solutions to complex, process problems through custom designed and web-based software. We are seeking an ambitious candidate to analyze client needs and produce the appropriate documentation to transition those needs to a documented project.

The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business system and user needs in preparation for new projects. This position will work with the client in the identification of their business needs and determine ways in which to enhance and automate business tasks.

The successful candidate will also be expected to identify and recommend changes to established practices and policies and determine ways to increase efficiency across projects.

Key Position Accountabilities:

• Works as a consultant with clients to identify and analyze their existing business process, goals and infrastructure to determine ways to enhance and/or improve processes.
• Maps the current business processes and gather requirements, both stated and implied
• Performs an impact assessment of the project and determines possible solutions
• Documents a feasible solution - how it will work, what it will look like, how much it may cost (high level)
• Creates a proposal that includes high-level budget and timeline
• Creates a business requirements that includes all expectations of the project, including wireframes, that are reviewed with the client
• Works with the project manager, software lead and QA manager to understand the business logic in a project
• Reviews requirement documents with the project team
• Along with the Project Manager, identifies project milestones or sprints
• Reviews project at each milestone to ensure it is complete and meets standards for the client’s application
• Actively contributes to lessons-learned exercises for completed projects
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Breadth of experience through all phases of the software development life cycle
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to constructively participate in cross-functional discussions with other departments
• 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area
