Seven Simple Machines is a small, privately held, custom software development firm in Seattle, Washington. From our offices in the International District, we create component-based solutions to improve our enterprise clients' process management. Our company was formed at the advent of 2004 as a merger of the independent consulting practices of the principals.

Our senior members have been working in professional software development, Internet and computer-related fields for more than fifteen years. We bring to our firm a broad range of experience in industries ranging from healthcare to avionics to non-governmental organizations and continue to pursue work in those and related fields.

From our philosophy of participatory discovery and our belief in the value of simple patterns, we bring a unique and compelling perspective to the field of software development and web applications. Our clients have found that our approach delivers affordable solutions that are simple to learn and use because they are designed from the perspective of the people who will be using them.

As a small firm we recognize our part in our community and feel that helping the social good is good for the company (and personal) health. In addition to the work we do for non-governmental and social organizations, Seven Simple Machines donates 10% of our net after-tax profits to non-profit and charitable organizations that help promote social well-being, environmental protection, human rights and education.
